The “assimilated salaried employee” regime for medical experts is definitely a hybrid status!
In a ruling handed down on April 6, 2023 (RG n°21/00065), the Versailles Court of Appeal confirmed the hybrid status of the “assimilated employee” scheme
Since the start of his career, Thomas ROCHE has been a member of a CCPPRB which became a CPP (also known as the French Ethics Committee), and as a lecturer, he regularly participates in conferences, co-leads a working group specialising in clinical research and writes articles for various specialist journals. He was recognised as one of the Lawyers of 2021 by his peers in “Biotechnology and Life Sciences Practice” (Best Lawyers Ranking – Les Echos).
Since he started practising in Montreal, having taken his oath in 1999, Thomas ROCHE has specialised in innovation issues, and more particularly in the health sector.
After returning from Montreal and having worked for 18 months with a Lyon-based law firm specialising in business law, he founded and developed Roche Avocats where he spent 11 years advocating for “the right to innovate”, for companies in the health and digital sectors.
After being admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2013, Thomas ROCHE finally decided to stay in France and joined Delsol Avocats where he created the Life Sciences practice, which he led for 8 years.
In 2021, eager to get involved once more in an entrepreneurial project and convinced of the need to provide a clearly identified offer to meet the needs of health stakeholders, he created Life Avocats, which is a firm specialising in digital health and life sciences. Thomas ROCHE is registered with the Lyon Bar.
